Chris Dobson
As MSN International’s VP of International Sales and Trade Marketing, Chris Dobson oversees the development of MSN’s advertising sales and marketing in all markets outside of North America. Under Dobson’s direction increasing opportunities are already being launched for advertisers on MSN services such as Hotmail and MSN Messenger. Dobson will also be rolling out international initiatives focused on dedicated account management and partner retention.
In his previous role as Regional Sales Director for MSN in EMEA, Dobson was responsible for leading and managing MSN’s sales teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this role Dobson saw digital marketing revenues increase by 48% in fiscal year 2003 and in the UK alone, 36% of FTSE 100 companies advertise on MSN.
Dobson started his career in the automotive industry with Land Rover before moving to media sales in UK national television, working for Yorkshire Tyne Tees TV and Thames TV. He then switched to a pan-regional TV working for MTV Networks Europe where he was responsible for a number of major pan-European clients including Coca-Cola, Proctor and Gamble, British Airways and Nestle. It was at MTV, as Vice President of Advertising Sales that Dobson restructured the sales force, setting the network on a course to its current successful position.
Prior to joining MSN, Dobson was European Business Development Director at Zenith Media Worldwide where he was responsible for sales, marketing, PR and training for European network business development activity.
Dobson joined MSN in November 2001 as part of its $30 million investment in a new European digital marketing programme, MSN Advantage Marketing. His appointment completed the massive expansion programme of MSN’s sales force, which increased by 400% that year.
At a time when the competition is reducing theirs, MSN has increased and restructured its sales force to ensure there are dedicated account team representatives for agencies and clients. |
